Registered Nursing graduates recognized at pinning ceremony
Centre, Ala. – The Gadsden State Community College Health Sciences Division recognized students earning their associate degree in Registered Nursing during a pinning ceremony held December 15 at the Richard Lindsey Arena on the Cherokee Campus. The 22 students also received their associate in applied science in Registered Nursing during commencement exercises December 18 at Gadsden State Cherokee.

Students presented with awards for achievement during the ceremony included Erin Adderhold, recipient of the highly coveted Florence Nightingale Award, which recognizes those who are the most committed to caring and compassionate nursing care.
The Excellence in Academic Achievement was presented to Erin Adderhold, who had the highest grade point average in the class.
Students awarded the Academic Achievement Award for having at least a 3.0 GPA are Memery Gwin, Kaylee Higdon, Mattison Sirmon, and Aliyah Williams.
Six students were recognized for completing the Registered Nurse Apprenticeship Program, which provides nursing students with the ability to earn while participating in on-the-job learning as a student nurse apprentice at a registered apprenticeship employer. Graduating participants are Emma Bethune, Jessica Goza, Kaylee Higdon, Mattie Sirmon, Kobie Traylor, and Ashley Wolf.
